does anyone know how flexible liverpool is with meeting their grades on results day? ucas says 100% of people have been accepted with A*AB instead of AAA for vet but is this reliable?

also if you have deferred entry and you get A*A* in bio and chem but B in your ‘third a level’ (not necessarily related to vet science) could you still keep the 2026 offer but it be conditional on a resit of the third a level to get up to an A

hey, i don’t have any personal experiences with the flexibilty but i do know that liverpool gives out contextual offers (i have one) so that may be why they’ve accepted A*AB

hey I just thought id start this thread so that people possibly going to study vet med at liverpool in 2025 could chat together.

Hi, I have an offer for 2026 (still deciding between Liverpool and Nottingham). Is anyone else a 2026 offer holder?

Yes I applied to 2026 to do a gap year and I’ve firmed Liverpool 😁. I guess it depends if you want to spend some time in the city on the main campus at Liverpool as at Nottingham you are in the countryside the whole 5 years.

Yes, the two sites are very different... that's why I'm struggling a bit. I'm from a very rural area so not sure how I'd find city life, but on the other hand Sutton Bonnington campus was VERY quiet. Have you thought about accommodation at Liverpool yet?

has anyone on here put down Melville grove accommodation first?

Hi,
Been thinking about this to...My son got A in Chem, A in German and just missed his A in Biology. Resitting currently. Has got a conditional offer from L'pool for this September - asking for an A*. I think he'll get an A with no bother. How likely are they to reject him if he doesn't get an A*?
Thanks.

I remember speaking to Liverpool about this on an open day last year, they seemed very adamant that they wanted you to get an A* in the resit for the offer to be accepted, but I think this could change depending on the cohort/ how everyone else performs

Hi! I applied last year and got a deferred offer for 2025 and got an offer with A*AB with the B in chemistry. I didn’t have a contextual offer either and I know a few people who had the same grades. It depends entirely on how the whole cohort performs though. Hope that helps!

Hey, does anyone know what software/apps you use on the course please? I am purchasing a tablet and want to make sure it is compatible. Thank you 😊

Hi. I know Liverpool rates work experience highly. Would 3 weeks at different vets, 1 week at stables and 1 week at animal farm park be sufficient? Or is that potentially a wasted application? Also have customer facing part time work.

If you fulfill their minimum requirements you will be fine. Just practice replying to a question with no one to prompt you because they use MMI by computer interface which can be quite destabilising if you haven’t prepared for it.

Amount of work experience does not matter as long as it meets minimum requirements? I was wondering that in comparison to many others it is probably on the lower side and would maybe not get to next stage because of competition. Obviously the more experience the more there is to talk about in the MMI.

What counts is how you reflect on your work experience NOT the absolute amount you have done. If you fulfill the minimum wex and grade requirements it is a tick box operation to the next stage in the application process.
For MMI interviews what is important is that you are able to show how your wex has enabled you to understand the veterinary job rôle and where you have shown that you possess the necessary attributes. Even if you have found certain things hard you should be able to explain why you found it hard (was it the interaction with the client or emotions linked to the state of health of the animal for example) and then be able to demonstrate how you dealt with the issue. Just accumulating hours of wex won’t be of any use. What counts is the quality of that wex and the efforts you made to make each instant a learning experience.

They still have a while before having to decide, literally months so no need to rush.
