University Courses

hi, i’m in year 12 but i want to start thinking about universities and looking, etc. but i have so many ideas in my head & i don’t know what to do with them, i am currently taking law, sociology & criminology but when i’m looking at the required grades they range from A*AA - AAB, and i feel as if i’m not smart enough for them grades. so is there anyway to improve grades and anyway to sort what i want to do for the future out in an easier way?

you got plenty of time since you can apply till jan next year so you dont have to rush ( for oxbridge, you would have to apply by october) Grades would depends on which uni and course. When choosing universities , dont just look at the grade boundaries and ranking , obviously they are important but as well look at the geographical factors , accommodation, school environment etc theres 5 choices for you to pick so make sure you get a safe choice depending on your predicted grades. Personally, my predicted grade is AAB , so i picked a course requiring ABB for my safe choice and A*AA for aspiring choice. you can look at this post for more about that : https://www.theuniguide.co.uk/advice/ucas-application/the-smart-way-to-choosing-your-first-and-insurance-choices
good luck!

im glad it helps !! not gonna lie my year 12 mocks went quite disappointingly, i got BCD which makes my predicted grade ABC but overtime i changed my predicted grade after some discussions w teacher and made observable improvements in my weekly/monthly exams. In my experience I would say doing past papers is the MOST important , it will makes you be more familiar with the exam types and how you can answer the questions etc. theres another silly way which i basically record myself teaching a topic , so I would find a certain area / topic that i need to do recap with , and record myself teaching someone else when i look through my notes and teach it in my own words ( if that make sense 😭) I take sociology as well and i think theres like 250 studies overall ? it made me overwhelmed for quite a while but tbh you dont have to remember all of it , just break it down into smalled components and possibly be memorising ~3 studies per subtopic and you should be fine !
