iLearn Engineering

Anyone used or had experience of iLearn Engineering, distance learning engineering courses. I have checked them out with EduQual, a regulated awarding body, and iLearn Engineering are an approved and endorsed centre for a range of learning programs. EduQual are approved by SQA-Accreditation.
Up till very recently I had never heard of them.
They deliver course at EduQual level 4 and 5.

Hey there , this is my first time hearing about that qualification but ultimately if you want to be a charted engineering depending on which engineering you are interested in you need an iMechE or IET accreditation , or iChemE ( for chemical engineers). From the research that I have done that route is not accredited . I suggest you try to check universities that offer distance learning , this may be a little difficult for undergraduate courses because a part time course would most likely take 6 years instead of 3. Alternatively you could look into apprenticeships if you would like to work and study at the same time. Or consider an HND first from college then add your final year at a university , we often accept engineers for advanced entry to third year with appropriate grades in their HND from Leicester college.
I hope this helps .

Hi, thanks for your reply.
Really looking for an accredited CPD course that would be valid if I decided to go further.
Basically I am C.Eng MIMechE MIET with a couple of HNC's in mech eng and welding.
I know Northampton Uni does a part time FdSc in NDT and still waiting to hear from them.

But I do take you point about seeing if iLearn Engineering is recognised with institutions.
I have established it is recognised by Eduqual who are approved by SQA-Accreditation. That a Scottish qualification body.

As you can see I am a mature learner, who believes in life long learning.

Many thanks and good luck with your career.
