Note Taking Tips?

I came from a traditional Asian public school. Some of you might know that when we study we read aloud for like 50 times until we got it right. Ever since I changed to IGCSE it's all about taking notes and stuff, some teachers give us notes, and some don't. Since I came from an Asian public school I don't know how to take notes.
I REALLY want someone to tell me how to take notes, dos, and don'ts. You can also tell me which apps are good for studying or how to take digital notes

In terms of organising notes, I like having different books or folders for different classes. For class notes, splitting the lessons into headings, with a clear format (e.g a colon or an underline) is helpful. I also like to have my own key (e.g for key words and definitions, word - definition) and sometimes I'll switch colours as well (e.g for formulae, I use a blue pen). I try to note down everything the teacher says and ask for their slides if there is anything I'd like to look over.

I also rewrite my class notes from either paper or online onto GoodNotes (which is a paid online note taking app) and OneNote (which is good for organising by topic and is also free). In those, I will usually add examples or diagrams and make them more condensed than my lesson notes. I know that some people will also type up their notes on Google Doc or convert class notes straight into flashcards (on Quizlet or Anki). There are also great online notes for many IGCSE subjects on physicsandmathstutor (free) and savemyexams (paid) which offer great summaries.

There aren't any right or wrong ways to do your notes, just find a method where you can easily look back on your notes and make sure they are helpful for exams. Good luck!
