Will 99999976653 be good enough to enter UCL?

Will these GCSE Grades be enough if complimented by A*A*AA or A*A*A*A and a good ps. This is for courses in the fields of mathematics and economics.

What grades did you get in GCSE Maths and English? Provided you meet their requirements in those subjects I see no real issue.

I have 2 questions:
Have you already applied?
Which A Levels do you take?

If you have strong personal statement, predicted grades that align with standard entry requirements that should be okay. Unis don't tend to prioritise GCSEs over your predicted grades or a good ps. So if you haven’t started already, you may want to be doing things to support your personal statement, and you may want to write down what you did on your notes app so you don't forget.

We cannot tell you whether you'll get into a specific uni or not, sometimes you may think your application is top tier and you still get rejected. It's best not to be too set on one uni, especially if you are applying to competitive courses like maths or economics. I'm not saying you are doing that, but all I am saying is make sure you keep an open mind.

Also, you can look at UCAS historical data to see the offer rates for a lot of courses, so that may give you an idea of how many offers tend to be given out for that course, but keep on mind it may be different for 2026 entry.

Good luck.

My GCSE grades are 3334447A89 & ive got an offer from UCL for Economics. Mind you, the 4 is in maths but at A level I’ve got A*A*A (obtained last year, intensive alevels that i took privately) Maths, FM & CS. They care less about GCSEs, especially this year as they have lowered the needed maths grade for almost all courses. Good luck!
