If you mean the UCAS equal consideration deadline, which was on Wednesday, then yes. Unis have their own "deadline" to get back to you, otherwise UCAS will send an automatic rejection (it's happened to some unis that don't tend to treat their applicants well
As above the equal consideration deadline is the deadline for applicants - unis then have until May normally to give offers to those who applied by the equal application deadline. Some are well known for making offers right up until the end (even the majority), such as UCL.
Often you'll get a confirmation type email saying they received your application I think, although I suspect as this is "peak time" for applications those might be a bit slower going out.

Nah, postgrad apps tend to go directly to the uni and don't use UCAS. You'd had to see what the unis own deadline is.

Our Postgraduate Admissions Team aim to respond to applications within 30 working days. For some courses, or during busy times, this may take longer.
Applicants can track the progress of their application by logging on to the Apply to Newcastle Portal. If any further information is required from an applicant in order to process their application, they will be contacted via the portal.
