Late International UCAS Application Question

Hi all,

I want to preface this by stating that I am a prospective student from the United States. I was unable to get my application in on time due to current issues with both my referee (Teachers did not get back to my referee about AP score predictions) and payment methods (Trouble with international banking). For the record, I wrote my first draft personal statement over a year ago, so as you can imagine I am extremely distraught at the prospect of not being able to attend school in the UK.

That being said, I understand that I may still be applicable for clearance positions. However, because I am applying to 5 competitive Urban Planning courses at top universities (such as UCL and University of Sheffield), I am not expecting for many spaces to clear up.

I want to ask, though I understand it is futile to do so, is there any way that I can be considered in the same pool as other applicants? My college councilor has mentioned *calling* some of the schools in question to enquire, but I really don't want to be an inconvenience to the university admissions teams.

Please, if you have any information that you think might be helpful or otherwise reassuring, reach out to me.

As an international applicant you may find it more effective to email the international officer who covers North America at each university. They’ll normally be less busy this time of year and will be able to advise on whether the course you’re interested in is likely to remain open after the deadline.
