Issues about a friend for a year now

Hi everyone, so I’ve made this online friend for over 2 years now and I’m struggling to see what our friendship is now, we met on discord in year 11 just before GCSEs and have pretty been talking everyday, but recently that’s changed quite a bit. For reference I’m a boy and she’s a girl. We’re both doing the same A levels, bio chem maths and both did pretty well at GCSE. But recently a few months back I ghosted her sort for now what I see maybe a pointless reason, and recently she might be hinting that she wants to be something more than friends? I don’t know her irl just online, and we’re both really stressed for uni and I don’t want our friendship to be ruined, so can someone give me any advice as to how I should approach this? Thanks and sorry for the long rant

assuming you're in Y13, I would say keep a distance. you don't have to ignore her completely. but given you're at a very important stage in your life rn, i'd say to keep a distance from anything that is causing you confusion and making you overthink or lose sleep. at the end of the day, it's your life and an ambitious kid with great goals so pls pls don't let distractive ppl sway you. you can start by not replying couple of days at a time, and if she asks just say you're busy and if it becomes too much then block her.
