Leeds is way cheaper than London, better night life cause there is a high student population%.
I guess the only pro of London is maybe better hospitals/facilities and its closer to other cities.

Yes, I know I shouldn't but UCL is far higher on the league tables than Leeds, and I know the quality of education would be better. However, I grew up in a rural area, and moving to London would be a much bigger step than just moving to a smaller city like Leeds

I don't think ranking necessarily means better quality of teaching, does it?

No it doesn’t, the ranking means very little for med as you all end up with the same degree

Well I've spoken to quite a few doctors and many of them don't get asked or care about where they did their degree. It's the same degree wherever you go, so I think you should just go to the place that suites you the best.

Congratulations to all those who got an offer.
Following the discussion about league table and the unis, I think the ranks are based on student satisfaction, research, amount spent on students and such.
In practice how ever, there is very little difference amongst the medical schools as all of them have to follow the same curriculum set by GMC.
The only difference is how they deliver that teaching and you may want to consider if that method of teaching suits you.for eg: PBL is not every one’s cup of tea.
My son and his friends chose Leeds because they love the city and it is cheaper compared to London. How ever, the transport links may not be as good as London.
Many students we spoke to, think it is safe for female students.

Yeah, I've received my Cambridge offer as well - obviously I'm going to firm that due to it being more prestigious than Leeds

so is this for medicine?
or history and politics
or history and political economics
