UC and sfe

Hi,

Please clarify if SFE informs universal credit directly if a student is receiving maintenance loan or does the student need to do it themselves? I don’t want to make any mistakes assuming so would help if someone clarified this so that I’m aware if there’s anything I need to do. Thanks

Thanks for confirming. Does that mean SFE doesn’t? I was under the impression SFE does but then I’m being told I have to.
I’m new to all this so apologies for asking again as I want 100% confirmation and then I can sort this asap. Thanks!

Hi Tee1290,

That's correct, SFE would not inform Universal Credit directly, that would be the responsibility of the student to let them know.

Thanks. Do I also need to inform housing benefit or you do this? Again, sorry as I’m new to all this. Thanks
