english lit a level help (ocr)

hii! i’m doing a level lit ocr for my a levels and i have my y12 mocks coming up in 6 weeks - i was wondering what is the best way to revise for english?
we will be doing paper 2 for our mocks (the bloody chamber & frankenstein) but i genuinely don’t know how to revise for english or how to structure anything in the paper. how do i pace myself through the exam?

in my english, in class assessments ive gotten
c, c, d (earliest to most recent 🤧) - they were on a dolls house btw

i just don’t know how to revise but id really appreciate some tips! i would really want to hopefully get a b these mocks - what works for you in terms of revising for english? thank you 🙏

Personally, what worked for me was doing a bunch of plans for past paper questions. I'd do quite detailed plans including my main points, the quotes i want to use, context to add, and any specific things i know i want to include. I'd also sometimes make multiple different plans for the same question to help me think about the text deeper and get a better understanding of it. Personally, I think making plans is a better use of time than writing whole essays, although I did also write up a paragraph each from some of my plans to practice writing. Also, making lots of plans helped me to spend less time on them in the exams as I didn't have to use as much time thinking what to write because I've already thought of lots of different points and structure.
Hope this helps!

I’m doing the same course (English Lit OCR) and ‘A Doll’s House’! I got an A in my Y13 mocks, so this is speaking from my own experience. Make flashcards of quotes (and at least 3 flashcards, front and back filled)! Have a flashcards for AO3 (context), because you will need a LOT of context to get max marks! Don’t forget to write down some AO5 and a range of critics at least, or you could use movies or other forms like “marxism would argue that..”!

Look at your past assessments, look at what you were struggling with. Is it the lack of quotes, context or that you didn’t write enough? For extra support, do a past paper and make a note of how much the AO’s are on different questions. There are also exemplar answers online for past papers. Best of luck!
