Hi there!

Normally, to live with someone else you'd need to be in a studio rather than the typical halls blocks. As far as I'm aware, the university halls don't allow dual occupancy (email [email protected] to check), but a lot of private accommodation providers do. I stayed at The Boulevard (Student Roost) in a studio with my partner, other examples are Vita Student, Student Castle, The Brickworks (through their website), Percy's Place, and the Samuel Tuke Apartments. Private providers cover both universities most of the time too🤗

Hi there,

The majority of the University of York's on campus accommodation are single occupancy rooms, but we do have a small number of on campus double rooms, studios and one-bed flats for couples. These are allocated based on priority, so there isn't a guarantee that you would get one of these rooms.

I'd recommend getting in touch with our accommodation team by email ([email protected]) or phone (+44 (0)1904 322165) to discuss your options further.

I hope this helps! - Hannah 😀
