Hi there,

It's great to hear that you're considering studying at York! 🎉

We have a couple of undergraduate courses related to music production which you might be interested in:

On these courses, you'll experience a variety of different teaching types, including: lectures, group discussions, performance workshops, seminars, tutorials, rehearsals, instrumental lessons and concerts.

As part of your degree at York, you can add in a placement year or year abroad (either studying or working abroad). Both of these are a great option to boost your employability upon graduation 🎓.

Our facilities for these courses include:

Dedicated seminar rooms

Rehearsal rooms with pianos, music stands and a range of orchestral instruments

Access to the John Paynter Music Library, York Minster Library and the University of York Sound Archives

Outside of your degree, you could get involved in one of our many music societies, or even try your hand at radio by joining the team at University Radio York 📻

To help decide which university is right for you, I would definitely recommend attending an open day. Our upcoming open days are:

21 and 22 June 2025

5 and 6 September 2025

Book your University of York open day tickets (bookings open in April)

I hope this helps! - Hannah 😀
