Is 2 Advanced Highers and Three Highers Too Much?

I want to study Literature (maybe with Classics or History) and I'm not sure how many subjects to take in S6.

The subjects I want to take:
Advanced Higher English
Advanced Higher History
Higher Geography
Higher Business Management
FA Social Services, Children and Young People (SCQF Level 6 - one year course)

The non-negotiable subjects are Advanced Higher English, Higher Business Management, and the Foundation Apprenticeship (useful for the jobs I'm interested in).

I would like to take all of the subjects listed above, but do you think it's too much? And more importantly, will my school think it's too much?

I’m assuming this would leave you with basically no free periods? I would do four of those max so you have some free time in your timetable. Your advanced higher dissertations will take up a big chunk of your free periods, and you will need the extra time to get your head around course content (particularly if any of those subjects are crash Highers). From a social point of view, those free periods in S6 were also great for getting to know people outside your social circle, so I wouldn’t do something that would mean you miss out on that experience - you only live once and doing four vs five subjects is going to make zero difference to your future prospects.

What are you applying to (why do you need a FA) and what are the specific requirements for the place?
Do the minimum needed as you won't have time to do the maximum, there wouldn't be a benefit to doing more than is asked.
