Two students, one household - SFW

Hi,
First of all, this is a question regarding SF Wales, there wasn't an option to select this, so I'm wondering if someone could help. I am going to be starting my second year in October with Open University, and my partner has decided he now also wants to enroll for April there too. I am wondering if him claiming student finance will affect my funding at all when I come to re enroll. I work part time; he currently does not work and is on PIP for his mental health and we have two children if this is at all relevant. I am weary about him enrolling in case this messes my funding up. Any advice gratefully received. Thanks, Katie

Funding is assessed on a person. So no, him applying for student finance won't affect your funding. They are 2 separate matters and 2 separate "debts". Myself and my daughter both did a degree at the same time. You will have to submit your finances (any taxable income) to student finance when he submits his forms to determine loan v grant amounts.
