it’s because you’re a contextual applicant, mine was also reduced to ABB as i’m in a low income household/live in a deprived area

did you check it on yorks website? if so then there’s lots of other reason you could of been given a reduced offer like if you do an epq, in care, did an access program etc

The grades on the website are a guide - they ca ask for what they like. I suspect they want you to go there

Your mock year 13 mock grades don’t change your predicted grades that you applied with?

It’s definitely possible- I went from ABC in year 13 mocks to A*AA on the final exams- just make sure to focus on past papers, and using your final month preparing for what will actually be in front of you on the day.

Worth noting that transition from B to A is usually far easier than from A to A*.

Also, in response to whether you should have referenced being a low income family, you could contact their admissions and ask- perhaps they could edit yours to a contextual offer, if they haven’t already met any threshold they may have.

exactly this! ^^

if you’ve already received an offer requiring AAA you can still get it lowered if you contact them, i received my offers before i could get evidence i’m eligible for a contextual offer so i just sent an email to my firm and got my offer lowered from 112 ucas points to 96

one uni lowered them without me needing to contact them (BBB to BCC) so i actually have no clue why, it could’ve been stuff mentioned in my reference (i’ve struggled with depression for years and i’m also a young carer which some unis consider)

for the uni i contacted it was because i’m a care leaver, i just needed to email them proof - that’s also the only criteria that uni accepts for some
reason 😭
