Random spells of extreme dizziness

At the minute I have these random episodes of being so dizzy that I have to lie down because otherwise I would fall over and it lasts for about 10 minutes then stops. I saw a doctor about it over a year ago and I requested an MRI but was told they're not willing to refer me for one on the NHS and basically just fobbed me off saying there's nothing they can about it. That was one the few times where I did mention brain tumours so that likely contributed to their dismissal of me and I saw a male doctor who spoke to me in an extremely patronising tone and insisted I was stressed about uni. But as it stands I haven't been to a lecture or class in weeks and am still having the symptoms so I'm clearly not that stressed about it. If I'm out when it happens I have to sit on the floor and lean against the wall even if I'm literally just in the street so my symptoms are clearly lessening my quality of life but doctors still believe it's okay to deny me treatment.

Well for a start I would call 111 and maybe slightly exxagerate to get them to send ambulance to you. The Paramedics will then do tests on you and will suss out what it possibly is.

See another doctor

I've seen pretty much every doctor at my local practice

You’ve seen nearly every doctor at your local practice and every one has dismissed debilitating dizzy spells and chronic pain lasting a decade or more?

Thinking about this logically, what are you hoping unqualified people on a message board to tell you to do? Homeopathy? Singing bowls?

They've all suggested that it's either just something I have to learn to live with or that it's caused by anxiety. And I'm just posting to vent and have more of a record of my symptoms/seeking advice on them for if it does turn out to be something serious which later leads to my death despite doctors refusing to treat me.

In the meantime, try eating more salt. Drink some salt water. My friend has POTS and she said salt helps. Add more iron in your diet too. It won't hurt to try.

If you are unhappy with your current practice, register with another one. Something tells me that whatever doctor you see and whatever they do for you, you are going to interpret it as being fobbed off though.

How are we going to know you have died?

I'm looking at/saving for private medical care as they're generally more willing to prescribe

My account is logged in on my laptop, my family will have access to these posts as evidence that I have been consistently reporting my symptoms/seeing doctors so would have evidence for a medical negligence lawsuit

Good luck. Just be aware that most doctors will probably not want to risk their licence to prescribe what you want when it isn't indicated.

It's more of a threat to their licence to refuse me medical treatment for an extended period of time

I used to but I'm pretty sure someone from uni was able to identify me based of my posts (it's possible she didn't but she directly asked me if I was struggling with some of the things I've mentioned in posts before)

I find it hard to believe that not a single doctor over he years has offered you what would have been appropriate tests and treatment for your symptoms. I suspect that your idea of what's needed is just very different to what's appropriate.

They could probably still work out who you are from these anonymous posts, to be fair.

I was given an MRI on the NHS one time when I was 14 after I had what my teacher described as a seizure while I was at school. On a few other occasions I have been given standard blood tests. All of those have resulted in doctors telling me that the tests are normal so they're not moving forward with treatment. I have literally begged doctors to do more tests and not just leave me to live with debilitating symptoms and they have always just said there's nothing more to be done and just given me generic healthy lifestyle advice and told me to take paracetamol or ibuprofen
