I didn't apply to UCL, but I did apply to Bath Spa and OBU for architecture. I recommend reading the courses portfolio guidance, but from what I've read they want a mix of everything from school work to personal work. The OBU and Bath Spa portfolio guidance are both really helpful so if UCL doesn't have one (which I am sure they do) check them out.

Hope this helps!

Hi!

I applied to UCL for engineering and architectural design this year and I got an offer recently! I think my advice for putting together a portfolio is to ensure that it covers a range of skills, such as a range of mediums or a range of projects. I used a lot of my A level projects and things I have done for work experience, as well as life drawings. Try and put forward work that you are passionate about, and have a lot of consideration for, since if you get invited for an interview, you will have to talk through a few of them. I hope this helps!

Also just a quick follow up, I don't think it matters too much whether you include artistic pieces or problem solving based things (I think either way, it's inherantly creative). I also didn't do a cover page, I just compiled all my images on a powerpoint (I think it said 10 pages, so I did 10 slides) and converted it to a pdf.
