Got an unofficial offer emailed to me from Cambridge

It has been 8 days and I still have not received an official offer letter. Should i be concerned? Is there any chance that I really did not get an offer and I am misinterpreting this? The email says "On behalf of the MPhil in XXX Panel I am pleased to let you know that we would like to offer you a place on the XXXX XXXX This is an unofficial letter, you will receive your official offer from the PAO with all the conditions you need to complete"
I never listed a college that i wanted specifically and just sent an open application. Could it be that no college will choose me? I am freaking out a bit. I also sent applications to two other pathways and both of those applications appear to be withdrawn and the one I got an unofficial offer from says "pending". Help!

What does it say on your UCAS hub>spplication? I'd call both UCAS and Cambridge admissions

I think that's actually normal (in contrast to the people who have reported you). Cambridge does that with some postgrad stuff - it's a bit of a mess. What does the admissions portal say?

Of course a college will choose you if you have an offer - don't stress!

Departments are specifically told every year not to do this, because they don't control the PAO timeline. Just sit tight, the PAO will catch up eventually. There's no issue over a College, if you get an academic offer, a College will take you.

You are both straying into the Postgrad forum, the OPs question is entirely reasonable and there is no UCAS involvement.
