Work Experience

Does anyone have any idea where I can gain work experience to apply for a degree like Politics and International Relation’s?

PAIR is an academic degree. You don’t need any work experience for a place on the course. Super curricular activities and studies would be more relevant.

You can join university programmes like K+ or Sutton trust. But shadowing your local MP can be good. Also IHAV mentoring programme can be helpful with politics and so can youth Parliament. Even joining debate clubs at your school or taking part in public speaking competitions or debate competitions. Joining language classes can be helpful too

Hi there,

Super-curricular activities are an excellent way to showcase your passion and curiosity for a subject, and SOAS’s upcoming PPE Masterclass is a perfect chance to do that! The interactive session will be led by SOAS academics and delve into the topic of racial capitalism, giving you a taste of university-level discussions and an insight into studying politics.
You can find out more about the session here: SOAS PPE Masterclass

I hope this helps and feel free to give me a shout if you have any IR-related questions!
