Best EU english taught vet med courses?

Hi, I'm trying to research different universities that offer courses similar to the RVC BVetMed Graduate Accelerated course. I'm currently finishing my Animal Management and Zoology BSc (on target to have a 2:1) and will be taking a gap year between going onto any other course.

Whilst I'd love to go to the RVC the racking student debt is obviously a little unwanted, but as I'm also a Polish/EU citizen, my lecturers have informed me that there are countries that have cheaper or even free uni tuition if you're an EU citizen.

I've been trying to research stuff myself but it can get quite confusing, so I wanted to come here and ask if anyone is aware of any good unis offering similar courses in the EU (teaching in English) and their prices?

I study dentistry in Kosice Slovakia, I have friends from Iceland in the Vet Med school down the road. They seem to love it and there's a LOT of international students that go to the uni. You could check that out maybe?

Hey - I have dual citizenship with British and Polish. I have applied for UK Vet Med and have 2 offers so far and I am also hopefully planning to apply to 3 Polish vet schools. The Polish unis have free courses for EU citizens but only if you study in Polish. They do still offer English and it's only about 5/6000 euros a year compared to the 9000 in the UK. The cost of living and accommodation is also considerably cheaper. I'm not sure if they have graduate courses tho. I'm sure if you actually contact some of the unis, they'd be happy to help

Hi, not sure if this is useful but the French government recently mandated a review into popular EU schools, and at the bottom of the report is a handy table with the schools/taught language/average tuition fees/average housing fees/EAEVE accreditation and some positives and negatives for each (based on feedback from vets who trained at these schools)
Anyway, here's the link, the pdf is at the bottom and the table is page 70 : https://agriculture.gouv.fr/mission-detude-sur-la-demographie-veterinaire-et-dexpertise-sur-lopportunite-et-la-faisabilite-de
Let me know if you need any help with translation !

A lot depends on the budget you have. French vet schools are virtually free but I believe you actually have to be a French national to apply. Similarly the Belgian schools but it’s done on a lottery system for those that are non Belgian as well as a quota, but the courses are not in English. The school that operates nearest to the British system but without EMS is Valencia in Spain. It’s a private school and does the first 3 years in English whilst you get your Spanish up to speed and then the clinical years are in Spanish ( normal you’ll be speaking to clients ) Otherwise there are schools like Kosice which are cheaper but the teaching is very different to the UK as is the way of life. You would also have to be aware that SFE won’t finance any of the European courses.

Very interesting article as to why the French will basically not be opening another vet school. They need 1200 vets a year, train 850 themselves and can rely on the rest of Europe providing them with another 800 or so. In fact they will have too many vets wanting to work in France and salaries and other working conditions will suffer!
