Reimbursement for special support loan

Hi.

I have applied for reimbursement for special support loan sent off evidence and cover letter for the years I was doing my undergraduate from

2019 - 2023

They have reimbursed me for 2019 year and 2023. But for 2021/22 they have said deadline has passed.

Which has confused me as they did it for 2019 which was earlier. How does this make sense

Hi Oliverbradley,

We aren't able to check your account here to confirm why the 19/20 year was accepted and the 21/22 year hasn't been accepted. It would be best to start a live chat on your account or call us so that the adviser can look into this or refer this back over to the assessors to be reviewed for you.

Hi thank you. How long are referrals taking now. I have submitted another cover letter and uploaded to my account last week.

Will they just say the same or as it’s down to discretion can they accept?

Hi

The reply I did get when I applied other week via cover letter was this

Your student finance in academic year 2020/21 and 2021/22You sent us evidence for special support loan druing the 2020/21 and2021/22 academic years, but as it was not indicated on your applicationthat you may have been eligible, we can’t do this as the deadline formaking changes to your application has passed. The deadline was nine monthsafter the start of your academic year.Yours sincerely

If I send send off another cover letter to dispute this will and are they allowed to look at this and reimburse under discression

Hi Oliverbradley,

A cover letter explaining why you didn't apply within the deadline would allow the assessors to reconsider the application for the Special Support Loan. If you already uploaded this, it will be in the queue awaiting review. Our current timescales are approximately 5 working days from the date received, with subject to change depending on our current volumes.

Hi Oliver,

Yes, they should be looked at together. The team will review and contact you if there is any issues.

Thanks,
Claire
