Past study and tuition loans

I previously started a degree in 2009, had to repeat my first year but then withdrew due to mental health issues at that time. I had two years tuition fee loans because of this. I had letters at the time from my doctor confirming I had to withdraw due to extenuating circumstances. I sent these to SFE back then and they were sent back as they said I would have to send the evidence whenever I applied again.

Would I be able to use these letters now if I applied or would I need new ones?

I am hoping to study an accelerated degree part time, which would be over 3 years, as it is 2 years full time. Would I be entitled to tuition fee loans to cover this?

Hi SSbramble,

You wouldn't need to use different evidence unless they were rejected due to not being an acceptable evidence type.

As long are your Compelling Personal Reasons evidence confirms what happened, when this happened and how this affected your studies, then this should be enough to show that you were unable to continue with your studies.

Thanks, Clare
