Third Year International Students Applying for Graduate Roles!

Hey everyone! If you’re in your third year and looking for a graduate job in the UK, this post is for you.
By now, some of the most competitive graduate schemes, especially in engineering, have already closed their applications (many shut in December or by the end of January).
But don’t worry! There are still plenty of graduate roles open, so if you haven’t started applying yet, this is a sign to start applying.

It’s important and to your benefit to start applying now because the recruitment process for graduate roles isn’t instant . In most cases it can take several months from application to job offer.
Here’s what you can expect for most roles :
1.)Online Application Filling out forms and submitting CVs. Some roles may require cover letters.
2.)Online Tests Numerical, logical, or situational judgment tests that assess your skills.
3.)Video/Phone Interviews Pre-recorded or live interviews where you answer competency and technical questions , some are even in person .
4.)Assessment Centres Group exercises, presentations, and technical interviews to evaluate your suitability for the role.
5.)Final Interview A one-on-one with a senior member of the company before a decision is made.
Because this whole process can take months, applying early gives you a better shot at securing a job before graduation.

Where to Find Graduate Jobs That Sponsor International Students
If you’re looking for companies that offer Skilled Worker visa sponsorship or accept international candidates , here are two great platforms:
Student Circus A website that only lists jobs from UK companies already sponsoring international graduates.
Graduate Cracker A job search platform that lists more roles, including some that offer sponsorship. If you’re open to applying for a Graduate Visa, you’ll find even more opportunities here.

My biggest piece of advise for now is to start applying now, and don’t leave it until the last minute! I’ll be posting weekly updates with advice and new opportunities specifically for international students.
Next week’s post: How to make it through the recruitment process and stand out as an international applicant or we can discuss what your expectation salary should be when you apply , comment what you’d like more below.
Good luck with your applications! 🚀 If you have any questions or need advice, drop a comment below!
