When choose a university

Im an international student, and I got offers from Leeds, York, Manchester, Newcastle, and Birmingham.
Im thinking of going York or Leeds cos of course I have an interest more. Some international students rly care abt world ranking, but I don't think that would be all of things. I love York course more, but I got advice employability is important, and Leeds employability is higher. Any advice? As Im an international student, idk clearly n confused how important universities perception in the UK.
What subject do you want to study?

What sort of city/town do you currently live in (big, small, green, built up) and do you want to study somewhere that feels similar or somewhere very different?

Do you have any particular hobbies or interests or any specific career goals in mind?

If you want to balance top uni with social life, employability and good vibes, Manchester is the best on your list. It would depend on your course though

Im gonna study kinda creative industries.

I don't mind rly, but just don't like too big city.

Tbh, idk clearly yet, but I have an interest to work in Lush and Disney with digital content related jobs.

Then I would say your instincts for leeds or York sounds about right. Personally of the two I would choose Leeds (it’s a much more creative city - with multiple universities offering creative courses) but it is a bigger city than York although I don’t think it feels like a bug city personally.

Hello,

It's great to hear you're considering York, I've found it a fantastic place to be.

York has a very well developed Careers Service with a knowledgable and experienced team to help. The careers service is easy to access and they have multiple resources to help you from the start of your time at York and even after you've left. I'd also highly recomend their platform Handshake.

To help you make your choice I'd reccomend:

Chat to some of our other international sutdents on Unibuddy

Look at our country specific information which includes the contact details for our Regional Managers.

We're also really happy to answer questions on this platform,

E.
