Does anyone actually have a job whilst studying architecture?

Hi there!
I'm Charlotte, a GD student from Norwich Uni Arts and in my 2nd year.

In terms of working whilst studying a creative subject - I feel that out of people I know there's about a 50/50 split between people who work and people who don't. I'm in a fortunate position that I have a job that I can pick up between term times... so can save up over the summer and spring breaks, and pick up shifts as an ambassador when I can. Others I know work 2-3 days a week while balancing their studies.

I think it's more down to finances and whether people feel they could take that on. I personally don't think I could work 2-3 days a week while being at uni... but I know people who do and don't struggle with that!

Hope that gives a bit of an insight. Feel free to ask any further questions

Architecture is an intense degree and you will find that you will need to put a lot more hours into your course than a lot of other students taking different degrees. If you are disciplined with your course work, you might be able to work a few hours a week.
