UCL History offer?

Hi, I was wondering when I might hear back from UCL as a history major? I am applying as an international student from the US, and have heard back from KCL and Edinburgh (both conditional). I have literally no clue what the time table is for hearing back from unis, but was wondering if anyone had any ideas or has gone through this process before! Thanks

UCL is pretty well known for making offers right up until the UCAS deadline for unis to make offers by (in May). I got my offer in May when I applied (for a different course mind you)!

Congratulations on your offer from LSE, I’m still waiting. Do you mind telling me what your predicted/achieved grades are please?

My advice is to study at Edinburgh if you can, because the city is so beautiful and classy. Reputation wise UCL is marginally ahead of Edinburgh, but the difference is negligible, and nobody will differentiate between them. KCL is on about the same level as Edinburgh, so it is an excellent third choice.

The downside is that Edinburgh is very cold half of the year.

Do you think there’s a possibility that some of the history offers would be in May this year? That seems super stressful to make a decision last minute considering we have to send in our choices the same month

One thing to consider is that UCL, LSE and KCL are not like Oxbridge in how student life goes. These are great research universities, but they don't provide anything like the Oxbridge vibe and experience! Edinburgh looks and feels much more like Oxbridge, and their estate is far less crowded.

Yea I’ve just heard not great things about their student satisfaction… I’m leaning more towards London because I have family there too and it’s a familiar environment as I’m from NYC. But I really have to go over all my options once I heard back from UCL, whatever their decision may be…

This would be my choice.

Edinburgh > LSE > UCL > KCL

Remember that London, for all it's job opportunities, is highly on crime, and on expense. Edinburgh is only an hour or so by flight to London, and there is far less crime.
