I think the thing I find the most helpful is reading other model essays, trying to take inspiration from the structure and some of the phrases they use that push them to the top band.

Paper 2 is really picky about verb endings, and one wrong verb ending can push you down a band, so I would really encourage you practice grammar, and verb endings.

Kerboodle has some really good resources.

Also, try and understand the context of the book and film more by reading what other people have to say about It and also do a bit of research outside of the book.

3+ hours a week of paper 2 revision would most likely land you can A or A*.

could you get the help of a tutor? Sometimes, it's just a case of 2-3 improvements that will have a massive impact on your marks. At least if you're paying a tutor, you can get feedback to improve quicker, especially so close to the exams.

I recommend studying the background of la haine especially but also un sac de billes. There are some really good youtube videos talking about the movie in relation to the context of the time that I found helpful. For un sac de billes I found it useful to look at the large concepts like hope, childhood, etc make notes on them with linking scenes and then look through previous questions and possible topics and see which notes/scenes link to each of them, its easiest to do that in a mindmap with colour-coding. My teacher tells us to write the intro and conclusion first to get a sense of organisation if that helps too. And obviously essay practice, are there other french teachers that could look over them for you?
Hope this helps!

Bonjour!
Do you know where it is possible to find any exemplar essays? Only place I can find isTes, most of which are paid for.
Also, may I ask you how you manage timing in exams? I have a paper 2 mock coming up in ~5 weeks but we have never actually done a timed essay so any advice would be brill!
Merci d'avance pour votre aide
