Still waiting!

Feeling frustrated! I sent my UCAS form in early Nov and still haven’t had any offers. All the courses were my predicted grades or lower. I applied for Edinburgh (x2), Durham, Strathclyde and Newcastle. I know that the first 3 of these are traditionally slow to make offers but it’s really starting to get to me now. I am a Scottish student doing A levels so not sure if that is the issue

Unis have until May to make decisions so the wait is nothing to do with the quality of your application. What subject are you applying for?

Slightly different courses at all of them - combinations of business, accounting and finance.

I applied to two programs at the University of Edinburgh at the end of October, and I’m still waiting for a response. I am an international student, so it doesn’t matter whether considered as Scottish or international. One of the programs I applied to meets the required grades, while the other is based on predicted grades. By the way, could applying to two programs cause any issues? Waiting has been really frustrating for me.

I don't think it matters if you apply to more than one course at Edinburgh. The degree programmes don't see applications for other programmes at the same uni, apparently, so the admissions teams don't share info between subjects. You can message them and confirm which would be your first choice, if you like.

Edinburgh state clearly on their website that you should contact them for approval before applying to more than one course

Im in a ver similar situation, I have also applied to Edinburgh for Finance and Business (only the one course though) and I'm still waiting to hear back. I'm a Scottish student studying A-Levels abroad and all I have heard back is about fee status, I think they do just take a long time to process applications. The wait is so annoying sometimes.

We asked at open day and they advised to email them after application to confirm which was the preferred degree. If a student needs to study at a particular university for a valid reason eg sport, they are really understanding and very helpful.

Hi, I’m still waiting to hear from Newcastle Business School and submitted in November with grades higher than the requirement. Strikes are also scheduled to start next week which doesn’t bode well for hearing back soon.
