Is there such a thing as transfering into the 2nd year of a course through clearing or is there no such thing. If there is what is the process.

There is but I would email the university you would wanna go to see if they even accept university transfers, depending what they whether they want you to just send to send over your transcript and grades or apply thru clearing on ucas it’s the same process
August Clearing is only for filling 1st year places.
No University will be interested in messing about with 2nd year places in the middle of Clearing.

If you want to switch Unis, you need to email them now, with full details of your A level grades, and ask if a transfer is possible, and then apply asap through UCAS if they say yes. Just remember that they will want your UCAS reference to be from your current University.
Transfer applications are more complicated than year 1 entry. There’s a whole process of mapping your old year 1 modules and learning outcomes to the modules and learning outcomes of the new course.

That’s something that takes MORE time than year 1 entry not less. There’s very little chance that there would be enough time in late August.

If you want to transfer apply asap through UCAS. Don’t wait.
Worth noting that applying elsewhere now for a transfer doesn’t commit you to leaving your current uni. You can wait and see what offers you get back before making any decisions.

Hi there,

Universities might have different processes regarding this, I would email admissions team of the university you want to switch to and see if they could actually accept you

Take care,
