Hey Everyone! Despite my funny username, I like to think I'm a serious applicant for Oxbridge! I applied for the 1900s-Present strand and am so nervous! I'm an American studying English Literature with a certificate in Creative writing at a top 5 university here in the states. Also - on other message boards everyone keeps talking about the "button" disappearing. What is this button?!?!?
Wishing you the best of luck with your application! As for the button, when you go on the Self Service portal, first click on "View Full Application Details" and then click on "Supporting Documents." At the bottom of the documents page, you should see an "Upload" button (so you can upload updated transcripts, language tests, etc). Once that button disappears, it means they've made a decision...I think?

hi guys thanks for the thread to keep track! I got an offer from cambridge and York so far, i applied to oxford english 650-1450, theres only 17-20 places for EVERY strand of english in the MSt, so i imagine they will take like 5 or so of each : (

They have 72 spots open for all strands of English (found underneath the Key Facts table) on the MSt pages. Each Strand has a certain fraction of those spots, which varies by department and the amount of applications they get. The 1900-Present strand gets something like 200 applications a year, and they have about 22 spots out of the 72.

I'm also applying for this period! It looks like they get less applicants than places on the key facts table (unsure though?) Does that mean it's less competitive?
