HI DAWG!! uh so what resources did you use to achieve that grade nine ima need u to drop the tut plsplspls, and also what are the gcses actually like??????? like we haven't been given mocks yet and their answers are extremely vague, I want to prepare myself for the pre 2026 curriculum rather than post 2026 because its most definitely harder and I don't want to hinder my grade as ive been working on a pre 2026 testing structure of like one repeat since I started learning German. thanks cookie

I have to admit my school wasn't particularly strong on German, so lots of the resources I used were ones I had to make myself. Things like preparing for the speaking exam by compiling useful phrases and sentences that you can easily transfer between topics, having idioms and little things to make your speaking/writing more exciting will stand out to the examiners well!

As for exams, I did AQA so I can only speak for those exams, but I'm sure it'd be pretty similar across exam boards! Is there any specific area of the exams (reading/writing/listening etc) you're wondering about?

hopefully that was at least a little useful

what tips and tricks do you have for writing, I'm currently at a grade 7 in writing, listening and speaking and grade 8 in reading

hi!

for writing my teacher gave us this acronym CROISSANT to work with when doing writing tasks, but i'd imagine it would work for listening well too! i'd also recommend doing a plan in advance, as you can cross it out afterwards, which would help provide your answer with structure and a clear flow. there are probably higher/impressive phrases on quizlet which may also be useful!

this is the croissant structure below! it may be useful to preplan some phrases that fit each letter that you can apply to many different areas. idioms are also useful in that area e.g. das Geld liegt nicht auf der Strasse (money doesn't grow on trees) or das Leben ist kein Ponyhof (life's not perfect)!

hope that helps!
