Hi. So I’m from England, I was literally in the same position as you lol, the accents funnily enough aren’t that strong, when I first got here I thought I was cooked because my taxi driver had a thick accent but no the lecturers are good, the night life is absolute dog shite though and lots of students go home on the weekends so expect the weekends to be very boring and lonelyMy class has just under 40 students so you can ask questions it’s literally like being in school but you js focus on Optometry
It is also extremely useful if you drive and have a car btw bc UUC is like outside of town so all the shops are very far away
Flights are also quite cheap - I’ve booked return flights for under 30 pounds (no baggage though and it’s Ryanair)
You have the option of going to Derry (which is a lot closer to Coleraine)
And Belfast (two ish hours travelling with public transport/ 1 using a car)
I said above about Ryanair - they go from East Midlands, Birmingham and I think Manchester
There’s also EasyJet- but I think they just go to Manchester and Luton only
^easyjet is also a bit more on the expensive side
If there’s any other questions you have please do ask!

Thanks so much what’s the support like from lecturers and also the course In general is it really difficult and that’s what’s scaring me most that I might not be able to do it,I’ve not applying with alevels so I feel this puts me at a disadvantage.
