Study leave

I really want study leave, but for whatever reason, my school won't allow it. I know I could do so much better on my GCSE's if I were to have study leave.

Is there no way around it?

Would it not be possible for me to leave my school and do the exams as an external student?

Any tips or suggestions please.

Study leave now
you really only get study leave during your gcses or you miss out on opportunities within class and to finish your course so there's probably no way around it

Hi @0vzvixzen,

Unfortunately, many schools in the UK likely won't allow GCSE students a three/four month long period of study leave. Apart from the risk of possibly demotivating certain students, some GCSE students may still be under the legal school leaving age (16) and schools are therefore advised to exercise discretion when granting study leave at GCSE-level. Furthermore, at this stage in the year, many subjects may still have essential content to cover in class.

If your school does grant students study leave, it will likely be in the May/June examination period. Until then, I would focus on making the best use of the resources available to you right now - ask your teachers for exam advice or in class revision sessions, revise one or two hours in the evening at home, and try and memorise as much of the content as you can whilst in school.

Best of luck! 🙂
