Strathclyde or Edinburgh

Hi there so I have been fortunate enough to be given an unconditional for mechanical engineering at both Strathclyde and Edinburgh however I’m not sure about which one to go with. They both have their pros and cons such as Edinburgh being higher in the rankings however cost of living their is quite high as well as rumours of the students being not the most pleasant.

Have you visited them? I would recommend going along and seeing which one you prefer the vibe of - they might even run offer holder days. Edinburgh is well ranked overall but Strathclyde has a reputation for Engineering, so it’s probably much muchness on that front. Engineering is based at the King’s Buildings campus at Edinburgh and the students there are more down to earth (although I would say the type portrayed on the news are a small minority anyway). Does anything stand out about either uni’s course content?

Hi there thanks for your reply, yeah I have gotten an offers open day for Glasgow however yet to hear one from Strathclyde or Edinburgh. At this current moment I’m leaning towards Strathclyde and doing my bachelors there and maybe transitioning to edinburgh for a masters. I haven’t had a full clear look at the course content for the unis as I don’t really know what I’m looking for😅.
