When should I apply for dorms?

Accommodation applications usually open around Easter - you will get an email about this from your Firm Uni at the appropriate moment.
Despite what some Universities try to tell you, no rooms are actually allocated until August ie. until they know if you will actually be at that Uni or not, so resist *all* pressure to 'go-Firm-now-because-otherwise-you-wont-have-a-room' type emails. Its actually nonsense, and its just an attempt at pressure-selling by the more desperate for students type Unis, by creating a bonkers sense of totally fake panic. Don't fall for it.
Btw, at UK Unis, housing is known as 'Student Accommodations' or 'Halls' - 'Dorms' is American.

Hello,
I was wondering what time I should apply for dorms for uni especially since I don't know my final grades yet, which will impact which university I'll go to.
Could anybody give any advice?
Should I wait until I get my results so I know which uni I'll go into or should I apply to dorms asap with all the uni's I applied to that needs me to be living somewhere other than home?
I'm not really sure what to do, and if this is the correct tag.
