Unsure about clearing

I received grades BBB last year. I was 1 point off A in two subjects. I was previously accepted to bristol, manchester last year with AAA predicted. This year i applied to politics and economics at bristol, manchester and liverpool and was only accepted to liverpool. I would quite like to try and get into bristol or manchester on clearing. How do i go about trying to get in without rejecting my liverpool offer. I dont want to be stranded after rejecting the liverpool and not getting into either. Can i apply through clearing while having an accepted offer?

You can't formally apply whilst holding an offer elsewhere, but there's nothing to stop you checking their website or speaking to their clearing line on results day, (or earlier if they participate in early clearing from 5th July onwards).

Its very unlikely that an Economics course at top Unis like Bristol or Manchester would need to be in Clearing.

Why didn't you get both your papers remarked? If you were only one point off you would have stood a good chance in going up a grade. My son went up 7 marks from a remark and was regraded. I'm interested in the answers you get as this is the same situation my son is in, having taken a gap year as not quite getting the grades he was predicted and not wanting to resit. He now has 3 unconditional offers at non Russell Group uni's (not accepted one yet but will have to soon) but would like to see whether he could get anything better through clearing. Good luck to you.

Yes I know that but just wondered why his school didn't suggest it. My son was 2 marks off and the remark gave him 7 more just on the one paper that was submitted. He then went up a grade.
