Nottingham uni accommodation

Opinions please, which accommodation will be better for a first year student? Interested in Broadgate as would prefer self catering. Which rooms/blocks are the best ? Also, how does self catering compare to catered halls With regards to the social aspects ?
Really struggling I don't want to make the wrong decision!
Which are the best and worst catered halls ?
Any advice appreciated, thank you

Here are some reviews on student crowd for Nottingham accomodation in general. You will find The university's accomodation in amongst the private halls. I don't know much beyond that!

Hello @alilongden87!

Back when I was a 1st year student I chose to be in self-catered accommodation as it gave me more flexibility when it came to cooking my meals and so forth. On the whole, self catered is off-campus. Broadgate is close to the western part of University Park Campus and one of its advantages is that there is massive Tesco nearby, and a lively Beeston town which is quite nice.

However, the catered options may be more straightforward given that they are all on campus, which means getting to and from lectures is much easier/faster, and maybe better from the social standpoint.

I hope it helps,
Abian.
