UCL Economics with four A*

I applied for UCL in October and haven’t heard back yet . I have four A* predicted in Maths , Further Maths , Economics and Physics . I got 8 9’s and 3 8’s in GCSE .

I am praying that I get UCL offer . Is there even any remote chance that I might miss out on an offer from UCL ? that thought itself is giving me nightmares. Did anyone ever got rejected from UCL having four predicted A* including Further Maths ?

I got rejected from Cambridge due to low TMUA and UCL looks my only hope which makes me extremely nervous I.

Please , anyone who know the data on this can advise please .

Hi

In the same boat of rejected from Cambridge and similar stats waiting for UCL
Looks like other subjects at UCL getting outcomes so don’t think too long now
Good luck to both of us

They’ve already given out a few offers for Econ but only international students who applied in October
UCL regularly make offers right through April until May. I would recommend trying to calm a bit about it - you have extremely high grades so you've got a fair shot at an offer. As long as you're waiting for a decision, it means you're still in the running

Similar here (for ucl & lse) but did tmua in Jan which will be low. What would you both call a low score - under 3 or under 4?

TMUA is not relevant for UCL - isn’t it ?

No, thinking more for lse - did you apply there as well?

7 is ideal for LSE, but since the 2025 boundaries means a 5 now is equivalent to 6.5 in all other years, anything below a 4.5 is relatively low (for LSE)

as an international, i feel for you. it sucks when your country's unis prioritize cash cow internationals over their home students. international to uk students ratio at UCL management/econ is like 80:20. super unfair.

ok , but my point is not that . Am trying to gauge from earlier years stats to check if anyone ever got rejected from UCL Economics having four predicted A* including Further Maths ( and all 9’s and 8’s in GCSE ‘s ) , like in last three to four years ?

Would anyone know ?

If you want to know exactly then search on freedom of information requests, why would anyone on here know that? Plus it’s likely that someone with those stats has been rejected as UCL place a lot of importance on PS and a lot of people applying have 4A*s, but almost no one has offers from UCL Econ yet it’s usually late February March

Almost everyone applying has similar stats. The thing that really makes a difference (and is arguably the deciding factor) is your personal statement. So yes, people with 4A*s and essentially perfect GCSEs have been rejected. Don’t lose faith though, I’m sure you’ll be okay.

For UCL almost 70% of applicant's pool is predicted 4A* 3A* and similar.
So majortiy of who is accepted or rejected falls under similar predicted grade criteria.
I know 3 of my friends brother's got rejected from UCL Economics, with 4A* predicted and almost all 9 at GCSE
But 1 of them is in Oxford, 1 in LSE and 1 in Warwick.
As long as you get one good uni offer that's all you need. Wish you get UCL offer though.

How many UCL BSc Economics Home student offers would have been sent out so far ?

my grades : 4 A* predicted including FM . 8 9’s and 3 8’s in GCSE . five others in my school with similar grades got offers last week .

am extremely nervous as I haven’t got offer yet

Do you think most offers are already given or there are good numbers of offers yet to be given ?

I heard that the offer holder day at UCL for economics was on the 2nd April so idk if econ offers will stop after then or if there will be another offer holder day for like a later batch of offer holders?
