I received an offer from Bath for BSC Economics on January 10th. Still waiting for UCL
Hiya both,

Your unis have until the end of April to get your decisions to you, and when you get your offer will vary from course to course and how popular it is for this year (because the more popular, the more applications to process!) Please rest assured though that when you get your decision or how long you wait has no bearing at all on how strong your application is. I got my offer from Bath in Mid-April back when I went (albeit for psych rather than Econ, but a similarly competitive course).

Alesya - really great to hear you've heard back from us already and congrats on your offer 🙂

Any questions please get in touch, best of luck both and bear with us!

Nice! What are your statistics please if you don’t mind sharing and where else have you applied to. And when did you apply for Bath

A*A*A in maths, economics and psychology, respectively. I applied on 7th December. I also applied to KCL, UCL, QMUL and Warwick. Already received a rejection from kings

I got rejected from Durham with A* in maths and chemistry A in physics. I assume they accepted people with further maths or economics

Do you reckon I’m very likely to get rejected by UCL then?

Thats what i thought as well after getting rejected with A* maths A* econ A physics but i know to people who had 4A* maths FM econ and physics who were both rejected so it seems to be more competitive than that

That’s a good point. Did you also get rejected by Durham and where else did you apply for. I felt like I got my Durham rejection pretty quickly so I don’t think I was even close, hence supporting your argument of Durham being very competitive this year

Did they give you a reason

They said on UCAS :
“We were very impressed with your application and have considered it very carefully. Competition is very fierce and, on this occasion, other applications were slightly stronger. We are sorry that we cannot make an offer but wish you every success in the future.”
I am a bit surprised to be honest that they rejected me because I heard the acceptance rate was quite high. I think UCL is obviously very unlikely and makes me unsure whether Bristol will give me an offer. My only offer so far is Leeds but to be honest I don’t really fancy going there
