US Application from UK (Ivies 2025)

Hello, im from the uk and applied to Yale, harvard, and stanford with the predicted a levels A*A*A*A for maths, further maths, physics and economics, but i am a US citizen just live in the UK. I have a few questions. Firstly, is it likely that the US unis will interview us and when do these interviews typically occur? Next, i just saw that my mid-year report was uploaded and i got AAAB in my mocks not thinking they went to anything - am i screwed? Im a bit confused as my teacher did not mention any of this to me and there are no answers online. Thanks!

Are you applying Test Optional? What were your ACT/SAT scores?

You can find out if you need to attend an interview on the college's website. The interview will either be online or with a representative in the UK. Mid-year reports are what all US colleges will use for the regular decision cycle. However, your lower sixth grades are equally important.

Our UK school advisor did not submit any mock grades for mid-year or June requests, only the original predicted A-level grades. So she was re-submitting the same original report throughout the whole admissions process, and the actual A-level certificates only arrived in November after the start of the university course and almost a year after the university made their decision (it was an early action cycle).
If your grades are seemingly going down from your application grades, this can put you at a disadvantage. You may want to email the admissions and explain the situation - but also, you may want to ask your school advisor to provide some context to that report and explain that your estimated grades are still higher (if they are). Very few UK school advisors (or whoever submits those reports) understand US application process, and you need to educate them a bit.
Also, if your SAT scores are near perfect (for the unis you applied to, they have to be near perfect), this strengthens your academic profile.
