First look at your exam feedback, like my teacher marked my mocks and gave me comments.
I got 8 in Literature and Inspector Calls was my best paper. For that, my copy of the play had 'questions and explorations' at the end of the book, so I did that. If you do not have that, make your own questions about the characters for every page of the play.
At this point, do exam Qs rather than reading notes. If you have 10 minutes or less, do a question plan or a section of your answer. Effective if you revise in short bursts often. But if you dedicate more time, you can fully answer a question.
Now every time you do a question, look at your feedback so you are achieving your targets.
Macbeth I revised quotes and did questions. But my target was 'use technical terms' so what I will do now is do exam Qs, then look at my answer, see if I hit my target, and if not reflect on it and do better next time.

For English language it is mainly important to just keep on trying past paper questions and looking at past papers in general as I feel the best way to improve grades is practice. It is also important to know your language and structure techniques such as similes for language and tone for structure as those are essential for English language but also partly English lit (and also knowing how to incorporate those into your creative writing answer). I'd say for An Inspector Calls and Macbeth to watch GCSEPods and make notes on each theme and each character and to also reread the plays to make sure you fully understand them (don't forget to memorise some quotes too). I hope this helped, sorry it's a bit lengthy!
