hii, i applied to product design and technology at Loughborough, what exactly are you confused about? my general advice if you genuinely have no clue how to get started is to look at products/things that are currently on the market that fit your design task. for example, mine was to create a baby monitoring system so i basically researched into current baby monitor designs. Then from that information, you can usually find something you like/dislike about the current products, and create a design of your own accordingly.
Let me know if this helped/if you have any specific questions, I'm happy to help!

I did the same the best thing to do is to research existing products first and then go from there. I recommend reading product reviews so you can see what features are best and vice versa.

THANK YOU SO MUCH this really helps!!!! i was mainly confused by the prompt itself —-> “Design and visualise an object that will serve as a plaything between two beings. These beings can be humans, cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, pigs, horses, bees, birds, snails, or any others you imagine. Your design should create a meaningful interaction, fostering a playful connection between the two beings.” does this mean like a toy??? sorry if this is a lot to ask!!!😣

yeah id think so! thats how id interpret it anyway, a plaything just sounds like a fancy way to say a toy tbf, just one that can be used by two beings i suppose
