Commuting into Sutton Bonington for vet med from University Park?

Hi, I am going to Uni of Nottingham to study veterinary medicine but am a bit worried about how isolated SB is. I would like to commute from university park but don’t know how realistic this is and if this would impact my social life on SB and studying.

Hi!

There is a free bus service that goes between University Park and Sutton Bonnington (SB). Here is the timetable: 901 Bus Timetable

It takes about half an hour to get to SB, so you would have to time it well it to make sure you get to lectures on time. Hence, it is true that it is certainly a commitment but doable, especially if you want to take advantage of the social life that Nottingham offers to students.

Note that if opt to stay at SB, after midnight there are not as many options available in comparison to ones available during the day and you may have to plan how to come back to campus beforehand. There are sometimes organised free buses into and out of town for some nights out. Likewise, Loughborough is about 8 mins away by car, and there is a 24 hour bus to get there and back.

All the best,
Abian.
