How hard is it to get into this course? And does anyone know what its like? I haven't heard much about it. I am also looking at Liverpool & Hertfordshire.

Have you been to any open days? DR courses are usually competitive and unis expect you to have shadowing experience in a hospital DR department and public-facing work/volunteering experience.

Unfortunately I couldn't go to any open days, I do have shadowing experience though. I was wondering more about how organised the course is, facilities, ect.
For competitiveness, I was wondering as some universities seem to have their applications open until quite late. I was a bit confused as I thought the places fill up quickly. Are they just very strict about who they accept?

I'm not sure how competitive the pre-reg masters courses are tbh. For Liverpool undergrad, I recall from an open day that they received 600 applications for 60 places. Suffolk hasn't updated its webpage yet for 2026 entry (the 2025 course started in January). Suffolk is in a nice setting but it is a small uni - it felt more like a sixth-form college when we visited. We had no issues with the organisation of the courses (my DD was looking at both radiotherapy and DR undergrad), but the city and uni was too small for her liking.

My name is Wilma, I am currently in my second year of BSc diagnostic radiography so I do not know a lot about the MSc course, however, I do know that placement is 50% of the course as opposed to 60% for the 3-year undergraduate degree. You can read more about what the course offers here: https://www.uos.ac.uk/study/msc-diagnostic-radiography-preregistration/#d.en.27892
There is a postgraduate open evening on the 30th of April 2025 from 4 to 7pm at the Waterfront campus where you will have the opportunity to talk with our lecturers directly about their course offering, and to discuss with our support services any queries you may have surrounding your study. You can book this here: https://www.uos.ac.uk/pg-open-evening/#d.en.60901
If you have any more questions regarding the course or the university feel free to ask!
