Cambridge MPhil Criminology Applicants (2025/26)

I haven't seen any threads for the MPhil in Criminology this year, so I wanted to reach out and see if anyone who applied is on here! I submitted my application on 3 December 2024 (funding deadline) and recently noticed that my status was changed to "Decision Pending" a couple days ago. Is anyone else in the same boat?

Hi! Yes, my application also changed to DP on Friday. I've heard it generally means good things, but surely it can't be good news for all of us...

Who knows? It could be good news for all of us? Usually DP means it’s with PAO, so hopefully 🤞

Hi all! Has anyone emailed the department to ask what specific stage their application is in since moving to DP? I've read in other threads that they sometimes share a few more details, and I was thinking of reaching out as well. I'll let you know if they respond, unless someone else has already done it!

received my conditional offer letter for mphil criminology yesterday!! im sure lots of people have received/will be receiving theirs shortly!

from what i've heard it's pretty rare to get a rejection after moving to dp! fingers crossed you get your offer letter soon!!

i moved to dp either on or before tuesday, and i emailed them on wednesday & got a pretty vague reply on thursday. copied verbatim from email: "It is not possible to give a specific update on whether your application has been recommended by the Degree Committee and when any offer recommendation was sent to us for approval."

however i got my offer letter literally 20 minutes later, so it feels like they have a pretty quick turnaround! there should be a wave of acceptances round about now!

I think you do, especially as quite a lot of people have offers from other universities too and not everyone who has an offer now is going to accept it. Some offer holders are also probably waiting to know about funding before accepting/declining and this might take a bit of time!
