Great to hear you're planning to go into E & P, I'm sure that'll open up a lot of nice doors for you in future 🙂
@Newcastle University@Newcastle Uni@Newcastle University Ambassador will be able to confirm for their own institution - however unis in general have until late April to give you your decisions. I know how frustrating it is to be left hanging for months but each uni has an admissions team who have to carefully check through everyone's applications and give them same time and care that you gave to writing them. So please bear with us, we're going as fast as we can! Just wanted to reassure you that uni is not a first come first serve thing at UG level and when you receive your decisions has nothing to do with how strong your application is, so no news is good news!
I’m on the edge of my seat and was wondering when offers are made for the regular person - I applied to economics and politics
Hi @cherryberria!
We do try to process applications as quickly as we can. Please be aware that we receive a large volume of applications, and each application is considered individually. As such, there is no specific timescale that we respond within.
However, all applicants who apply before/on the UCAS equal consideration deadline at 18:00 on Wednesday 29 January 2025 will receive a decision by Wednesday 14 May 2025.
If you have any further queries about Newcastle University, please do ask!

For some of our courses, an interview or portfolio may be required as part of our decision-making process. If this is the case for the course that you have applied for, we will be in touch shortly for more information.

hi, so i applied to Newcastle medicine and when i booked my interview months ago for the January slots Iaccidentally booked two slots. I didn’t know this and thinking i only booked one, I went to my Newcastleinterview on 13th January.Newcastle sent me emails saying that I had booked two interview slots and had to cancel one but it wassent to my junk mail so I didn’t see it until late January. At that point, I had been automatically rejectedfrom Newcastle for “not attending my scheduled interview”, which was the second one I had accidentallybooked. I emailed to ask about it and they said it was a systematic error, and they couldn’t do anythingabout it but they had made a note of the error on my application, so if I were to be made an offer, the offerwould override the initial rejection. After that, I emailed back in early March to check and see how the progress was going. My email wasmainly about explaining the situation again, and asking if they were able to override the initial rejection tothe “still deciding” status, since I was scared they would’ve forgotten to have made a note of myapplication, and then it would’ve stayed as rejected without any further consideration. My email wasn’tresponded to after a few days so I sent another one. After waiting a couple more days, I decided to call Newcastle. The woman picking up the phone didn’tknow what to do as she did not manage the admissions process, so she told me to email. I told her I already emailed twice, she then said she would ask the people to check emails and I told her my name, aswell as my application details and what had gone on. I later got a reply on emails, but it said that “the interview process was completed so they couldn’t offer me another interview”. This meant they didn’t read my emails right, since my emails had stated I attended my interview, it was just that my second accidental interview booking caused a rejection on ucas for not attending it.Sorry about all the waffle, im just quite nervous that they have forgotten about my application, especially since it had been a difficult process trying to communicate and get a response from Newcastle’s admissions team. It’s almost or already the end of giving out offers so am just really scared.
