Harris Westminster Interview

Hi, I've got an interview for Harris Westminster, and was just looking for some tips/advice for it. I'm doing politics by the way, so any book/podcast etc recommendations for the topic would be really useful as well. Thank you!

I wasn't available on the day, so mine's on Tuesday. How was yours? Any last minute advice?

Outcomes came out today how was yours? I got 548 but I'm not in a priority group so needed 551. Anyways, I'm waitlisted for now, we'll see how it goes. 😭

Hi, got 548 here too! When people have the same score, I wonder how they order the waiting list?

Same here - I am on the waiting list as well! I can see that 480 people have been offered places, though the number of seats are 300. How does that work? If they have offered to extra 180 people 'just in case' (i.e. if many do not join), then what is the wait list for?

Do you mind saying what score you got? It’s interesting to know!

I think they said something about distance from the school, but I'm not completely sure.

That's what I was wondering, but they also said in the email that they "initially published an admission number of 300" making it seem like they're taking in more people. I'm not too sure though

Hi, thanks for this reply. I went and looked at HWSF's admissions policy and yes I believe it will be done on distance. They say the order of the waiting list will be based on "the criteria above" and that criteria states:
If any two or more candidates are tied on the same score for the last place available, then the place will be awarded to the candidate who lives closest to the Sixth Form using straight line distance between the applicant’s front door and the front entrance of the Sixth Form. Ties on this measure will be broken by lots drawn by an independent person.
