Neither is easier, an A on one will be as hard to achieve as an A on the other.
The exam boards dont set the grade requirements, that’s down to the sixth forms.
I wouldn’t recommend doing a level maths if you’re getting less than a grade 7 at gcse, up to you though if that is the case 🙂

Schools and colleges set their own grade requirements for their own reasons. My school does OCR and needed a 7 in maths when I joined (for the next cohort entry requirements were reduced across all subjects). The difficulty will be the same whatever exam board you do

Neither is easier, I recommend Edexcel though since it has the most resources available online.
