Childcare grant

Hello,

I want to know what will be classed as appropriate body if my daughter is cared for at home, The person caring for her will not be a relative.

“If your child is cared for at home, the carer cannot be a relative and must be registered with an appropriate body. Check with Student Finance England.”

Thank you. This means she needs to be a registered childcare provider or childminder for the assessors to determine your eligibility for the funding. Thanks, Jason

If she's registered as a nanny/au pair with Ofsted then you'd be able to apply for this. Thanks, Jason

Hi,

What exactly does she need to upload to get paid? Is it just the hours/days she has looked after my daughter?
She is just a single nanny…

Hi there,

Once you have applied for childcare and its been approved, you will be sent and email to set up an account on the Childcare Grant Payment Service. This will then send an email to the provider to do the same. They will then submit their invoices, and you would need to approve this on your account. Once approved, this will then be paid directly to the provider.

Thanks,
Claire

Students may use a childcare provider who is not registered or approved at the start of the academic year but then becomes registered or approved at some stage during the academic year. In such instances, childcare may only be paid from the point at which the childcare provider’s application for registration or approval has been successful and their registration or approval confirmed.

Thanks,
Claire
